What We Believe

About Salvation

According to Scripture, a person is saved only by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8-9) Good works do not save us; however, "we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good work which He has planned for us." (Eph. 2:10)

About God

According to Scripture, we believe in the Triune God; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit...One God. Matthew 28:18-20

We believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, the Word of God that became flesh. John 1:14

We use the words of the Apostle's Creed and Nicene Creed regularly in worship as statements of our faith that express these and other truths found in the Bible.

About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, unchangeable, and infallible revelation of God. It is our authority on all matters of doctrine. As St. Paul writes, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

About the Church

We adhere to the confession that the Christian and apostolic Church consists of all those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

About the Sacraments

The Word of God teaches that there are two Sacraments as defined by having the four following criteria:

1. Instituted by Christ
2. Uses tangible, visible elements
3. God's Word is united with these elements
4. Promises and delivers God's grace

Therefore, Baptism and Communion are the only Sacraments.  Learn more about these by attending the new member class.
